Value in your custody.
The note is the basic unit of value. Wallets manage the secrets that authorize spending and reveal note contents to their intended recipients.

01 / The protocol
Hegemon brings local custody, a shared shielded pool, and post-quantum foundations into one monetary protocol.
The note is the basic unit of value. Wallets manage the secrets that authorize spending and reveal note contents to their intended recipients.
How notes workLattice-based key establishment and signatures, alongside hash-based commitments and transparent proofs, underpin the post-quantum design.

The network needs to check the rules. The design keeps a note's private contents with its participants.
Read the protocol designA note carries value and the data needed to spend it. Its encrypted contents are intended for the recipient's wallet.
The proving system is designed to establish authorization and conservation of value while keeping the underlying note contents private.
Blocks record public commitments and action metadata. The explorer makes those records visible without connecting a wallet.

02 / Why it matters
A payment can reveal relationships, habits and business strategy. Privacy belongs in the foundations of a monetary network.
Public transaction histories can reveal who does business with whom. Hegemon's shielded design aims to keep note contents with their participants.
A sufficiently capable quantum computer would threaten widely used elliptic-curve cryptography. Hegemon starts from post-quantum building blocks.
Cryptographic claims need evidence. The source, design documents and methods make the assumptions and unfinished work open to review.
03 / Open research
Hegemon is an active research and engineering project. The public testnet is a place to test connectivity, synchronization and node operation as the protocol develops.
Production proof and privacy qualification remain in progress. Testnet rewards and recipient descriptors are public; the explorer shows the fields recorded on-chain.
